Theologischer Lehrer in Alexandrien und Caesarea in Palaestina. Weil er ca. 230 von dem Bischof von Caesarea zum Presbyter geweiht worden war, wurde er von Demetrius aus der Kirche von Alexandrien ausgeschlossen. In Caesarea dann regelmäßige Predigttätigkeit und theologischer Schulbetrieb. In der Verfolgung unter Decius gefoltert, an den Folgen starb er 253 oder 254 (source: AW_III_5)
