Eusebius of Caesarea (PTA_P00019)

Bischof von Caesarea in Palaestina, geboren um 263/265 und wuchs in Caesarea auf, Schüler des Pamphilus. Er hielt sich nach Ausbruch der diokletianischen Verfolgung in Tyrus und Aegyptus zeitweilig auf, um 314 Bischof von Caesarea, von einer antiochenischen Synode 324/325 wegen seiner Verbindung zu Arius verurteilt, in Nicaea 325 rehabilitiert, seither enge Zusammenarbeit mit Kaiser Constantin. 335 war er an der Absetzung des Athanasius beteiligt, ebenso dann an der Absetzung Markells von Ancyra, gestorben wahrscheinlich 339 oder 340 (source: AW_III_5)
